While reading The New York Times i came across an article on how Google is using the searches that people are using to find symptoms on the flue to track where it has hit. With people asking google about the flu researchers have been able to group it into a region and will be able to know what region the flu will attack up to 10 days in advance. It is a more reliable and faster than the center for disease control because it is one search engine the cdc has to go through multiple search engines and other resources to track the flu and where it would hit next. This new tracking from Google could initially save lives, and help warn hospitals and health care centers when the flu will be hitting their area.
